THE LIBRARY

The Library is OPEN
The Library is an entity with a seemingly endless reach where knowledge and collection are concerned. It's a great tool to get what you want in theory, when it feels like being useful. Oftentimes it doesn't, or will demand something else in return. If too many requests come in, the Library will close for awhile, so we can play catch up.

Additionally, mods respond to the Library requests TWICE A MONTH. Keeping that in mind, Library requests should not be time sensitive, or important for plot motion.

UPDATE 11/16: for ease's sake we've enforced these rules to keep the Library more streamlined:

1. No weapons
2. No pets
3. No vehicles
4. There is no need to request books (unless they're specialty titles from a character's world, or you want a reaction from the Library). Whatever title or topic they're looking for, the Library seems to draw them to the right shelf.

To start, have your character fill out this request card at the Library's pneumatic tube:

[ In the returning capsule Hawk does spot a lighter — a very expensive lighter in a silk lined box, packaged prettily with a tied ribbon. It isn’t your ordinary kind of lighter. For one, the lighter fluid seemingly never runs out, so he’ll never have to top it off. More interestingly, once a month when it lights the wick, some words appear in the smoke of the flame — a secret on whoever he’s thinking about at the time, though whether it's accurate or not will require some detective work on his part. The lighter will not show secrets to anyone else other than Hawk, and neither can anyone else see secret when he lights it up. ]

[ In the capsule pops out a seemingly handmade tankard, somehow unbroken from the journey through the tube. It isn't all it appears to be, however. When in Zoro's hand, the tankard never runs empty, full of a very delicious, high quality beer. One caveat: if he lets it out of sight, it will take him exactly one focused hour to find it again. ]

[ In the returning tube, there is an extremely long roll of receipt paper with an illegible code on it (think: Wingdings). Try as Maxine might, she can’t seem to make heads or tails of the writing, though the more she looks at it, the more she feels like someone is poking a finger in her brain, on an invisible meaty button there that’s labeled, yes yes yes yes yes. She also gets a headache for a few hours post reading, and speaks in rhyming patterns for the next 24 hours. ]

[ With a great deal more efficiency than other people experience upon a Library request, Grace receives an answering package. While her offered book is taken and kept in the Library’s private reserves, she is sent back a copy of Mrs. Caliban by Rachel Ingalls. There’s a sticky note on the cover of it, written in the Library’s usual unsettling handwriting: Welcome back, GRACE :) ]

[ Through the chute comes a large banner with an included pole to attach it to, along with any mounting gear he'll need to put it where he likes. Once unfurled, Aegon will see that it proudly displays the lesbian flag with Rhaenyra’s sigil on it. Close enough, right? ]

[ In the style of beautiful bodice rippers and dragon porn, a stunning piece of artwork comes through the chute — unmistakably Vhagar, featuring one Alicent Hightower riding the glorious beast, her star pedant buoyantly afloat between her near to bursting breasts. [ In the capsule comes one "nice" eyepatch — specifically, a couture, golden, beauty to elevate anyone's eyepatch style. With it, he's given a prosthetic eye to match the one Aemond currently owns, though this time it's a black diamond, rather than sapphire. Much more luxurious. While baseball is deeply American, the Library is more than happy to present a croquet set for the betterment of the youths of Saltburnt. How very thoughtful of you, Homelander.

[ All the paint that comes through the capsule is washable, glow-in-the-dark paint and can only be seen at night — if you were thinking of defacing Saltburnt property in the most obvious ways, too bad Jinx! Tools are also reserved for the staff, however the library seems to have a soft spot for the wild child (for right now, anyway), and does offer this set for developing your motor skills and imaginative play.

Hidden inside the playset, is a piece of paper that is strangely wet, with the bleeding ink of a dripping pen making the words written on it almost illegible. But! Clever girl that she is, Jinx can make out in the Library’s unsettling, serial killer scrawl: LONDON PURPLE. To answer her question. ]

[ Returning to Koby in an overly large case, is a small, golden medal in the shape of a star, appropriately inscribed CADET KOBY. Underneath the medal is a conclusionary message, meant for Koby’s eyes only:
