THE LIBRARY

The Library is OPEN
The Library is an entity with a seemingly endless reach where knowledge and collection are concerned. It's a great tool to get what you want in theory, when it feels like being useful. Oftentimes it doesn't, or will demand something else in return. If too many requests come in, the Library will close for awhile, so we can play catch up.

Additionally, mods respond to the Library requests TWICE A MONTH. Keeping that in mind, Library requests should not be time sensitive, or important for plot motion.

UPDATE 11/16: for ease's sake we've enforced these rules to keep the Library more streamlined:

1. No weapons
2. No pets
3. No vehicles
4. There is no need to request books (unless they're specialty titles from a character's world, or you want a reaction from the Library). Whatever title or topic they're looking for, the Library seems to draw them to the right shelf.

To start, have your character fill out this request card at the Library's pneumatic tube:

[ For those of you who make it a habit of visiting the Library when and how often you can, you’re in for a rude comeuppance upon making your way there on this particular day. One morning, the doors are just shut tight, sealed with some unbreakable lock, incapable of opening no matter how hard you tug, no matter what you throw at it, no matter what you do to it, with absolutely no effect to the doors left whatsoever. Observe a sign hanging from the door handle, which reads: CLOSED FOR MAINTENANCE. Looks like you’ll need to find a new haunt for the next foreseeable while! ]

[ Through extended requests, the Library has grown a little tired of Marazhai, but one thing is as evident as ever — the guy likes violence, pain, and destruction. Well. No gauntlets arrive on the returning package, but instead there is a device for penis-owning chastity. Enjoy! ]

[ Although there’s no dice in the returning tube to Silco for exactly what he wants, he is given a very fancy key — when turned in the keyhole of any door, that door somewhat mysteriously turns into the entryway to the Coronal of Sugar Roses, where all drug related devices can be found. ]

[ In the returning tube comes a cute collection of stationary, as well as a Polaroid camera — though it seemingly only has one picture left. Better make it count! As far as books are concerned, the Library happily accepts the return of Mrs. Caliban and sends along its own annotated copy of On the Beach by Nevil Shute, though it is very clearly not the copy Grace sent it. The notes are written on the pages in creepy handwriting, though they seem very thorough and well thought out. In addition, there is included a copy of Kockroach by Tyler Knox with a note from the Library — SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT

Along with the rest, there is a wrapped package tied with twine, with blotchy little ink smudges across the paper, clearly from the Library itself. It says DO NOT OPEN TIL CHRISTMAS, though whether or not she waits, Grace will find the same thing — first editions of the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, both signed by Roald Dahl. On the inner flap of book one, in the Library’s writing: THANKS, GRACE :) ]

[ The infamous hood comes through the pneumatic tube — with a catch. Each time he wears it, it blasts Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO like a speaker, so he both can’t hear other people, and all other residents think Jason is one of those annoying guys walking about with a boombox playing his own theme music. Everybody just have a good time! ]

▣ LIBRARY IS OPEN ▣

[ It's a lucky surprise if you happen by the Library on a particular day. The sign which has occupied space on the Library's doors for two months is replaced with a fresh one that says — COME IN AND STAY AWHILE. :) Inside, you might be surprised to see what looks like absolutely no change to the Library at large, at least not physically. The energy however, is slightly off. It's that same thick feeling of entering a sick person's bedroom, a little muggy and unsettling. Those of you who have been waiting to request something off the Library might be a little ... displeased with the results, to say the least.

TL;DR the Library is still not feeling well, but is, technically, open for business. Give it another month and it'll be back in top shape. Probably! ]
