For a maximum of one week post-revival, Charles will be a CHANGELING. Mischief becomes him, turning him deceitful and silver-tongued, quick with a lie or a charming word but never the truth. With new tricks up his sleeves, he entertains himself by shapeshifting into whatever form will cause the most chaos and confusion, animal or human or in-between. In his truest form, he appears as an embodiment — or aberration — of nature, taking on traits of flora and/or fauna. During this week, he feels a calling towards the lake, to regain his stone. He knows, in the dregs of his consciousness, it will subdue his lust for subterfuge. However β
Once a month, following no particular pattern, Charles' mental barriers begin to erode. For a period of twelve hours, he is inundated by the inner thoughts of those around him; they filter into his mind without actively trying, with no way to shut them out. The first six hours are overwhelming, an endless cacophony Charles struggles to silence. By the final six hours of this time period, Charles struggles to differentiate between his thoughts and the white noise of other peopleβs minds, causing him to begin to act on their feelings and impulses and tendencies, as if he was becoming that person. Finally, when those twelve hours are up, Charles' mind goes blissfully, staggeringly silent again, and his control over his telepathy returns.
