SUMMARY: alina arrived with her emotional luggage in tow, including a good bit of paranoia that she had been successfully taken back by the darkling after all. this prompted her to threaten paul, once she woke up in a strange place, and doing the same to nikolai; unfortunately, the latter resulted in learning about his STD (sexually transmitted demon) and getting a nice scratchmark in the thigh for it. this prompted reflection on where, exactly, her alliance with nikolai — and the future of ravka back home — stands.

in the meantime, she's resolved to cosplaying as A Normal Person in the manor, mostly out of self-defense, but also because she's allowed the freedom to do so here (for now). feeling out of place despite that, she got a little more comfortable after completing the scavenger hunt (with a big thanks to koby and matt, less thanks to bellamy and parisa for their parts), and shared multiple encounters in otherworld (paul, furiosa, armand, alia, eddie, mal, kovacs & betty) that matched her freak & have taught her some new things about herself.

SUMMARY: alina's month saw its fair shares of ups and downs. she's found new comfort in the arrival of erik who is, currently, the only one who knows of alina's abilities; on the plus side, their understanding of what it means to be different has eased some of her loneliness. on the downside, alina is more aware than ever that she feels like she's precariously straddling the line between who she wants to be and who she is, and juggling the two wolves (being alina starkov vs being the fabled sun summoner) inside of her.

while she recognizes it's selfish of her, she has allowed herself to indulge and consider the possibility of a future with paul, rather than the fate alina has been resigned to. they've grown closer as a result of their shared dreams of a future filled with family and love, though she continues to wonder if unconditional love and happiness is truly in the cards for someone like her.

in some other developments, alina flirted with armand, grew protective over koby, met nami, louis, embry and alicent, developed a big soft spot for alia and her little courting gifts, and spoke with several people on a network post about furthering her education while here.

on the less pleasant side: parisa and alia inadvertently triggered alina's trauma in two separate incidents and sent her into a spiral; she has been less forgiving toward parisa and more compassionate toward alia, whose remorse and intentions alina believes were heartfelt and sincere, which led to alia and alina trying to comfort one another. nikolai also left on suspicious terms, which has increased her distrust of the balfours.

SUMMARY: spent a majority of her month in Existential Dread™. a conversation with armand sparked her to look more closely at who she is, rather than what she is — which is a question she currently doesn't have an answer for. those feelings of uncertainty were only exacerbated via talks with alia about marriage & the distinction between love and alliances, and alicent on the topic of queenship and its duties, leaving alina and her future at an uncertain crossroads.

other notable encounters include: being disappointed but not surprised after learning of matt's deception. continuing the breeding kink agenda with paul, with who she spent a happy honeymoon period in lockdown with, and falling into a little pattern of domestic bliss with him (she is being so normal about it and him). dipping her toes into trying painting by making requests from the library. fighting about world politics with alexei in public. accidentally homewrecking sanji and nami (😔).

SUMMARY:

september saw alina forced into a position of honesty. though it started with a bumpy road, it proved to be for the better — alina unexpectedly confided in lexi about the darkling's betrayal, felt kinship toward daniil about his powers, and broached the topics she and paul have been avoiding (namely their duties, and their own shared affection with alia). alina's insecurities took a bit of a hit, but alina feels closer to alia and paul than she has before, thanks to some revealing conversations (being tied together and bullied by a dating app is a form of free marital counseling) — the three of them have arrived at a fragile place of understanding, and are trying to navigate their feelings more openly.

other notable developments: got outed by the butler app and is slowly trying to embrace being more open about who/what she is. flirted with a whole bunch of girls (girlfailure to girlfucker pipeline), most notably alicent, who she pretend-married in the moonlight. got engaged to her freaky lil mouse (paul) and had some big family feelings over it.

overall a rough and emotionally taxing month for alina, but one that ended optimistically.

SUMMARY: girlbossed way too close to the sun, in typical icarus fashion. nearly died twice, saw her pookie (alia) thrown in jail and watched her other pookie (paul) die, before reviving him and internally hating herself for the aftereffects it caused. repaired her relationship with her queen girlfriend (alicent), but many other of her connections took a hit, leaving alina in a bitter place of resentment and distrust, which has narrowed her social circle considerably.

for the remainder of the month, alina is trying to cope with her trauma by not coping well at all, and remains frequently skittish and flinchy and isolated — especially when it comes to touch and sex and the power dynamics therein she usually enjoys, now that she's been clued in that danny's attempt on her life was more objectification/based in sick fantasy than anything else.

alina began the month by coming out of her self-imposed isolation (rot girl autumn...) just a little bit more, which included winning couples' tennis with erik (read: cheating via using powers on the court), wifeing down paul atreides, and planning a ravkan christmas celebration with alia, with the hopes of passing down old traditions and starting new ones together.

while she remains wary of her fellow guests (and of herself, and her own power), alina has thrown herself headfirst into new projects by fixing up her apothecary & bookshop. she's pouring herself both into that and making sure her first family christmas goes perfectly, as the perfect distraction from processing her own emotions and trauma. essentially: working through her emotional and physical intimacy issues by not working through them. ♥

SUMMARY: failed sex, a threesome, birthday celebrations, mourning alicent's death, ravkan christmas, picking fights, and lots and lots of internalized self-loathing rearing its ugly head in her relationships. who knew ignoring your trauma and issues can turn into one big prolonged menty b episode!! but at least she had a happy holiday.

SUMMARY: a no-good month. alina manipulated alicent during her vamp crusade in order to stop her and retrieve her stone from the lake; good intentioned and ended up saving alicent in the process, but not without hurting alicent in the process. fell victim to resculpt, acted more insane than usual, waxed poetic about her feelings of inadequacy and cynicism toward love on the network. this was made worse by both glinda, alia, sanji and caroline, proving beautiful blondes cannot be trusted. paul took care of her, which earned him more trust and put their relationship in a better spot. alina is now happy to be back at work with s&s to have a distraction, though running off into the woods and never being seen again becomes more tempting every time she remembers her resculpt era.

SUMMARY: a low-key month. alina gaslit gatekeep girlbossed nick upon his resurrection, once she realized there was something deeply unsettling about him + his behavior toward her. she mingled with s&s fam and had a few nice bonding moments with her witch crew. enjoyed the springtime activities by letting her freak flag fly high, and then spent the rest of the month studying the consequences of resurrection and searching for a means to undo them, which bore fruit (figuratively and literally) — she used her findings to undo paul's death mechanics and subsequently shared her findings with the network.

SUMMARY: low-key month. alina ran a booth for s+s at the "school" event, reading fortunes (spike) and roping her staff (hyunsu) into helping her. she participated in host club dates just for fun, and found her patience tested once again by lestat. attended prom and won prom queen, which goes against her post-werewolf narrative that everyone hates her and needs re-evaluation. there, she danced with rhaenyra, alia, and paul. fought with danny on the network which only made him horny; same with saber. won superlatives and is reigning champion of cult leader girlbossing and insane throuplehood. she's working on a new project of painting daniel for armand, using some of his blood in the paints, which is very normal for them. a good month, overall!!
